BACKGROUND
The Playford Community Fund began in 1964 by a group including the Good Neighbourhood Council of SA (Elizabeth Branch), when a need in the Community was established because of the large number of new settlers from overseas and local people who came to settle in the new Satellite City that the Government of South Australia had developed.
It began as the Elizabeth Community Fund, later became known as the Elizabeth/Munno Para Community Fund and in more recent years with amalgamation of the two cities became the Playford Community Fund Inc.
The Fund provides services in Emergency Relief (i.e. Food) as well as limited amount of Bill Pay and Household items for residents of the Playford Council area and is fully run by experienced and qualified volunteers.
In the main the Fund is supported by a few valued corporate and individual Sponsors as well as the Federal Government and the Community who assist to continue this valuable work in our Community.
